Nasimiyu "It ain't pretty but it's beautiful"
"It Ain't Pretty, But it's Beautiful," EP (2011) is a collection of songs inspired by the artist's personal journies in the city of New orleans. In it, she weaves stories of nature overtaking crumbling city structures ("When Autumn Came"), of dancing like you caught the spirit of a swamp thing ("Swamp Foot"), of weary French Quarter hustlers ("Your Way"), of Bourbon Street's true face, behind the scenes ("Bourbon Street Blues"), of witnessing young girls come of age and learn the city's lessons and limits the hard way ("Bayou Black"), and of tarot card readings come true ("Fortune Teller").
